Get the Imaging You Need During COVID-19

Telehealth is here, and many people are now depending on their smartphones, laptops and tablets to receive the medical care they need. The absence of a physical exam in a virtual setting makes diagnostic imaging more important than ever to uncover any healthcare problems. Through telehealth visits, physicians can diagnose minor illnesses and injuries, refer you for certain diagnostic tests, and in some cases, even provide treatment for chronic diseases.
If your physician determines you need a diagnostic imaging test—MRI, CT or ultrasound, among others—you may feel uneasy thinking about receiving in-person care right now and wonder if you should wait. That’s understandable, but you have other options that put time on your side.
At American Health Imaging (AHI), you can have an imaging exam in a safe, outpatient setting at a fraction of the cost of what you’ll find at many hospitals. After your provider fills out an imaging order, you can expect same-or next-day appointments for your convenience. Here’s how to get the imaging you need:

Step 1: Ask Your Provider for a Referral

Let your provider know during your telehealth visit that you prefer to get your imaging done at AHI. Explain that AHI facilities are in an outpatient setting with protocols in place to ensure your appointment is as safe and contactless as possible. Our staff follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, will open doors for you, hand paperwork and cards to you with a sanitary wipe, and provide a clean, sanitized space for you to store your belongings and change clothes if needed.

Step 2: Schedule Your Imaging Appointment

Find an AHI location that is convenient for you and then request an appointment. If you are in need of an MRI or CT scan, there are forms you can complete ahead of time to streamline your visit. Before heading to your appointment, make sure you bring along other necessary documents and have read up on what your imaging scan will look like. Knowing how long your exam will take and what the machine looks like, for example, can help you feel more prepared and at ease.

Step 3: Get Your Imaging Results

After your imaging scan is complete, our board-certified radiologist will immediately review and interpret your results. Your referring provider will have your results within 24 hours, allowing you to get the care you need.
There’s no need to wait to get the imaging you need. Request more information about your outpatient imaging options with AHI.
